Jerusalem in the eyes of its children: Photography Competition

On the 5th of March 2023, the awards ceremony for the photography competition, ‘Jerusalem through the eyes of its children’ was held at the Augusta Victoria Hall in Jerusalem.

Awards were presented to 3 entrants each across 3 age categories (8-12, 13-16, and 17-22). The 7 participants were tasked with showing Jerusalem through their eyes, focusing on one of three categories: Women in Jerusalem, its architecture, and demolished villages, which have been lost to occupation. The winners were then chosen based on the social media interaction received by their photo on Facebook and Instagram.

The ceremony was attended by members of the JYCF, its friends, and its supporters, including representatives from the European Union and the GIZ. The evening was also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements in other areas of the JYCF, with certificates being presented to those who completed the professional portrait painting workshop and entertainment from the cultural forum’s ensembles and choirs.
